Kata… does it matter?

Multiple times I’ve been asked if the kata is of any importance when receiving an amulet, and if it’s okay to carry an amulet without ever saying the kata at all, followed by wonder on the meaning of the kata. I want to address this subject from my point of view, and hope to shed some light on the matter.

Before jumping straight to the kata, let’s take a look at conjure, a popular practice known as “Hoodoo”.

During my training in conjure, I dove head first into petitions and with practice and time, I began involving short passages from the Bible to chant over conjurations, something that was nudged by spirit, to cut the passages into abbreviations to condense the passage into a shorter chant, unlike spoken spells that usually rhyme, this called for repetition until my mind went clear and I could feel the energy rising, or a spirit enter the space to assist the work. After sometime of this practice and research, I came across the story and work of a shaman Yaqui woman named Maria Matuz from the north of Mexico, she spoke no Spanish as her native tongue was Yaqui, and for the most part a family member would translate for her to speak with people, what caught my attention was her petitions during cleansings to remove curses/ illness from people, while most of her petition was in Yaqui language , there was a battery being repeated of psalm 23, a short line repeated over and over in Spanish as she worked. She understood the words of power even if that was not the language she spoke, spirit spoke when her lips moved words into the ears of those seeking her help,

Kata.

The word Kata comes from the Pali word “Ghata” and means “speak”, there’s other words that are used alongside, to refer towards different types of knowledge, since we are focusing on sorcery and spell work rather than self enlightenment, we are going to become more familiar with the word “awichaa.” Which is still a kata but is centered in spoken knowledge to obtain or summon something, much like speaking condensed Bible passages in order to cast spell work for the awesome job promotion, or to cause roadblocks on the competition so you can get ahead.

The kata might be different per amulet, depending the maker of the amulet, lineage and area of Thailand and thus having the proper kata to call the spirit residing in the amulet is very important. Much like having a direct phone line to call a friend when we need them, the kata not only summons the spirit or energy within the amulet but also helps clear the mind, the focus to try and say the kata as best as possible and in a relax manner, helps the mind ease into quietness and focus, followed by our hearts desire, our wishes, hopes and dreams being spoken. Most kata call for either elements, the spirit residing in the amulet, holy scriptures adapted to the corresponding spell/ amulet, and other key things, so trying to know the meaning of it would bring more confusion to your mind, which In turn would go against what we are trying to achieve here. 

From my point of view and personal practice, I see spoken kata as an important part, even if we don’t know the translation, we are taking parts of our body to manipulate different elements, like practicing a melody on a music instrument, here we manipulate water and air in order to create sound with our breath, with our mouths we tune the melody of the sound, with our mind in focus, our desire is clear, with enough practice and daily maintenance, changes will be evident, even daily practice shifts. 

Kata is important and becomes second nature when you adapt it to your daily routine, engaging the amulet and further working towards your goals.

Carrying an amulet without maintenance and engaging it, may or may not help, but from my personal experience, there’s a shift of energy, each amulet is unique and engaging it is adviced to become familiar with this feeling and for the spirit residing in it to become familiar with you as well.

Kata… ¿importa?

 Varias veces me han preguntado si la kata tiene alguna importancia al recibir un amuleto, y si está bien llevar un amuleto sin decir la kata en absoluto, seguido de preguntas sobre el significado de la kata.  Quiero abordar este tema desde mi punto de vista, y espero arrojar algo de luz sobre el asunto.

 Antes de saltar directamente a la kata, echemos un vistazo a Conjuraciones, una práctica popular conocida como "Hoodoo".

Durante mi entrenamiento en conjuros, me sumergí de cabeza en las peticiones y con la práctica y el tiempo, comencé a involucrar pasajes cortos de la Biblia para encantar sobre conjuros, algo que fue aconsejado por el espíritu, cortar los pasajes en abreviaturas para condensar el pasaje en un un canto más corto, a diferencia de los hechizos hablados que generalmente riman, este requería repetición hasta que mi mente se aclarara y pudiera sentir que la energía aumentaba o un espíritu ingresaba al espacio para ayudar en el trabajo.  Después de un tiempo de esta práctica e investigación, me encontré con la historia y el trabajo de una mujer yaqui curandera llamada María Matuz del norte de México, ella no hablaba español ya que su lengua materna era el yaqui, y en su mayor parte un miembro de la familia traducía  para que ella hablara con la gente, lo que me llamó la atención fueron sus peticiones durante las limpiezas para quitar maldiciones/enfermedades de las personas, mientras que la mayor parte de su petición estaba en lengua yaqui, había una batería que se repetía del salmo 23, una línea corta repetida una y otra vez.  en español mientras trabajaba.  Ella entendía las palabras de poder incluso si ese no era el idioma que hablaba, el espíritu hablaba cuando sus labios movían palabras en los oídos de aquellos que buscaban su ayuda.

 María Matuz murió a la edad de 105 años y dejó de hacer trabajo espiritual a finales de los 90.

 La palabra Kata proviene de la palabra Pali "Ghata" y significa "hablar", hay otras palabras que se usan al lado para referirse a diferentes tipos de conocimiento, ya que nos estamos enfocando en la hechicería y el trabajo de hechizos en lugar de la auto-iluminación, vamos a familiarizarnos más con la palabra “awichaa”.  Que sigue siendo un kata, pero se centra en el conocimiento hablado para obtener o invocar algo, como hablar pasajes bíblicos condensados ​​​​para lanzar hechizos para la increíble promoción laboral, o para causar obstáculos en la competencia para que pueda salir adelante.

 El kata puede ser diferente por amuleto, según el fabricante del amuleto, el linaje y el área de Tailandia y, por lo tanto, es muy importante tener la kata adecuada para llamar al espíritu que reside en el amuleto.  Al igual que tener una línea telefónica directa para llamar a un amigo cuando lo necesitamos, la kata no solo convoca el espíritu o la energía dentro del amuleto, sino que también ayuda a despejar la mente, el enfoque para tratar de decir el kata lo mejor posible y en un  manera relajada, ayuda a la mente a relajarse y enfocarse, seguido por el deseo de nuestro corazón, nuestros deseos, esperanzas y sueños que se hablan.  La mayoría de las katas llaman los elementos, el espíritu que reside en el amuleto, las escrituras sagradas adaptadas al hechizo/amuleto correspondiente y otras cosas clave, por lo que tratar de saber el significado traería más confusión a tu mente, lo que a su vez sería  contra lo que estamos tratando de lograr aquí.

 Desde mi punto de vista y práctica personal, veo la kata hablada como una parte importante, aunque no sepamos la traducción, estamos tomando partes de nuestro cuerpo para manipular diferentes elementos, como practicar una melodía en un instrumento musical, aquí  manipulamos el agua y el aire para crear sonido con nuestra respiración, con nuestra boca afinamos la melodía del sonido, con nuestra mente enfocada, nuestro deseo es claro, con suficiente práctica y mantenimiento diario, los cambios serán evidentes, incluso diarios  practicar turnos.

 Kata es importante y se convierte en una segunda naturaleza cuando la adaptas a tu rutina diaria, involucrando el amuleto y trabajando más hacia tus objetivos.

 Llevar un amuleto sin mantenimiento y sin activarlo puede ayudar o no, pero desde mi experiencia personal, hay un cambio de energía, cada amuleto es único y se recomienda familiarizarse con este sentimiento y con el espíritu que reside en él. Al igual el espíritu se familiarizara con usted también.
